Typewriter of the type-bar class manufactured by the Underwood Typewriter Company Inc. in the USA. The design of this model was patented in 1911.
This typewriter is a front-strike machine in which each type-bar strikes the front of the platen, allowing the typed characters to be clearly visible to the operator. The platen on this machine is extra wide to accomodate wide sheets of paper.

Black- painted metal frame with gold lining. Typebars in semicircular horizontal basket below and in front of cylindrical platen, Extra-wide (510 mm) platen. QWERTY keyboard.
