Summary
Rotary offset lithographic printing press, manufactured by George Mann & Co. Ltd. in the 1920s possibly. The provenance is unknown - probably bought new but the Australian agents have not been located.
The press was hand fed and has foot pedals to control operation. This would be an attractive press (with a high wooden delivery tables) demonstrating a unique method of press construction; the press was clearly used to print labels, transfers and decals and represents a totally different aspect of printing heritage than other items in the Museum collection. The press is currently set up to print a decal or label with the Australian Army insignia.
Significance
One of the earliest Mann presses and possibly the only one surviving in Australia.
