Summary

Script in the form of a booklet, which contains a poem entitled 'Jane Conquest' for use during a magic lantern presentation or on stage.

During a presentation, the poem was read and slides were projected at certain pre-determined times. Instructions as to when to project a slide appear in the margins as well as when to employ sound effects.

A set of sixteen magic lantern slides accompanies the booklet.

There are also instructions to perform the poem as a play with actors playing the four characters but without the slides

This booklet is part of the Francis Collection of pre-cinematic apparatus and ephemera, acquired by the Australian and Victorian Governments in 1975. David Francis was the curator of the National Film and Sound Archive of the British Film Institute as well as a co-founder of the Museum of the Moving Image in London, which was operational between 1988 and 1999.
