Single barrelled shotgun, 12 gauge 18.6 mm, barrel 875 mm long. Breech loading, Snider action hinges to right, back action lock. Wooden half stock secured to barrel by a single band. Steel furniture.

Stamped on barrel "515", under barrel "18.6 855 z", Belgian proof marks. S/n 855 z. A silver plaque bearing the following inscription 'This gun was first used as a muzzle loader in the Boer War 1899-1902 by the late George Burrows Snr. of Kyabram Vic. Later converted to breech loading. Presented by family.' [Note: the details of the conversion are suspect.].
