Sample of resin from Dutch East Indies, Malay Peninsula and islands, Philippine islands and/or New Guinea.
The resin 'Manila copal,' 'Macassar copal,' etc., is obtained from the trees and is also dug from the ground. It is a 'soft' copal used for varnishes.
It was donated to Museums Victoria by the Netherlands India Government in 1922.
