Summary
Sample of Yellow Gentian, bitter root. The root is used as a tonic in the north of India for many purposes including: medicinal, appetite stimulant, poison antidote, tonic, febrifuge, emmenagogue, anthelmintic and antiseptic. Collected by T.N. Mukharji.
Physical Description
Clear glass bottle, cylindrical in shape with a glass stopper, containing small sections of root. Mercury chloride pesticide residues have been detected on this collection.
