Summary
This model was based on a specimen grown and presented to the museum by the Horticultural Society of Victoria from its gardens at Burnley in 1875. The model was made by museum artist Thomas McMillan in 1875 for display at the 1876 Centennial International Exhibition, Philadelphia.
This apple is a cooking variety and is harvested in autumn.
