Made by Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co, Hartford, Connecticut. Serial number 13102, 1853.

Physical Description

Colt 1851 Navy percussion revolver, early third model, cal. .36 in., rifled octagonal barrel 19.00cm (7 1/2 in) long with loading lever attached. Six chambered cylinder engraved with naval battle scene, small rounded Hartford style brass trigger guard with remnants of silver plating, steel frame, brass Hartford style back strap with small groove and remnants of silver plating, 'Slim Jim' style ivory grips, thin loading lever catch, loading lever rammer screw enters from R.H. side, pin style front sight. Knurling on hammer is of course Hartford style. Barrel address is early New York address. Inspector's intial 'G' stamped onto triggerguard below serial number and 'R' stamped onto triangle of triggerguard R.H. side. All nipples appear to not be original and have been replaced at some point.
