Summary
Typewriter of the type-bar class manufactured by the Yost Typewriter Company. The Model 20 was manufactured between 1912 and 1924, when the company ceased all typewriter production.
This typewriter is a front-strike machine in which each type-bar strikes the front of the platen, allowing the typed characters to be clearly visible to the operator. The typebars operated using the so-called 'grasshopper' movement and were inked directly from a pad against which the typebar heads rested when not in use.
