Datacraft model 5003M direct connect modem, with Dick Smith 'Pal- Phone' model F-5188 telephone handset. For use with terminals remote from main computer, using 300 bits per second data rate communication (V.21). Used by staff at Latrobe University to remain in contact with mainframe while working at home - an early example of telecommuting. With instruction booklets, 2 examples. Made by Datacraft in Australia and by Dick Smith, probably in Hong Kong in 1985.
