From a collection of material relating to the service of James Laurenson. Lawrence James Laurenson, service number 4232, was a 27-year-old draper when he enlisted in July 1915. He was placed in the 5 Infantry Battalion - 13 to 23 Reinforcements. In 1916 he was moved to the 1st Pioneer Battalion. He served in France, and returned safely to Australia in May 1919.
