Summary
Variety of Takasuka rice (syn. Kahei). Sample of paddy. Grown during the 1915/16 season at Tyntynder West, Swan Hill, Victoria, by rice breeder J. Takasuka. Takasuka was an eminent Japanese citizen who migrated to Australia.
This forms a small, but signficant, collection relating to the first rice grown in Australia by Jo Takasuka. This collection includes two postcards and rice samples.
