Colt 1851 Navy percussion revolver, early third model, cal. .36 inch, rifled octagonal barrel 190 mm (7 1/2 inch) long with loading lever attached.

Made by Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co, Hartford, Connecticut, serial number 10522, 1852.

Physical Description

Thin loading lever catch. Six chambered cylinder engraved with naval battle scene, small rounded Hartford style brass trigger guard with remnants of silver plating, steel frame, brass Hartford style back strap with small groove and remnants of silver plating, late Hartford style grips, loading lever rammer screw enters from R.H. side, barrel wedge screw head sheared off, loading lever pivot screw missing and replaced by a steel rod, pin style front sight. Knurling on hammer is Hartford style. Barrel address is early New York address but appears to have had an early repair on barrel which now makes the full address illegible. Missing screw in triggerguard, barrel wedge screw head sheared off, loading lever pivot screw missing and replaced by a steel rod. Inspector's intial 'G' stamped onto triggerguard below serial number and 'T' stamped onto triangle of triggerguard R.H. side. Consistent overall dark patina to steel.
