Summary
Four furrow stump jump disc plough model. Made by H.V. McKay, Sunshine, Victoria, before 1928.
This type of plough was manufactured at the Sunshine Harvester Works between 1915-1920. It was made in 2-5 furrow sizes. It incorporates design features by J. B. Garde.
A report of Sep 1914, of exhibits on H.V. McKay's stand at the Adelaide Show reported on the "Suncog" plough design as follows:
"A new departure is shown in the 'Suncog', which reduces wear and tear to a minimum, and will effectively plough and cut through mallee shoots, jump over mallee stumps or stones without -missing an inch of ground." [Chronicle, 19 Sep 1914, p.13]
