18 pieces of shrapnel from 'a dud shell dropped on Victoria Palace Theatre, London, 1916'. The donor indicated it was a souvenir previously owned by a Pte Barrasford.
The identity of Pte Barrasford has not been confirmed. No-one of that name has been identified in World War I service records held in the National Archives of Australia. The National Archives UK records several servicemen by the name of Private Barrasford, including Robert Barrasford, Stephen S. Barrasford, David Barrasford, Edward K.A. Barrasford and Soulsby Barrasford.
