Alethoscope also known as a Graphoscope. Uses a single rectangular convex lens to view photographs. By means of perforations and hand colouring and the lens an impression of simulated stereoscopy is obtained. The unit is mounted on a wooden cabinet which holds the photographs.Dated 1860-1870.
A plaque on the front of the unit is marked "Graphoscope, Perfectionne, C. Naya, Venise".
