Summary
PL106 thyratron. Made by Philips in Holland. Used for high energy pulse generation in radar. Mercury & inert gas filled. Filament 2.5 volts at 22 amps; anode 2 kilovolts at 6.4 amp average; peak 80 amps.
Classification: 'Transmitting' (radar) or 'switching' would be appropriate; this type of valve was not used as a rectifier.
Physical Description
Cylindrical glass bulb with top cap and four pin metal shell base. Base has bayonet pin. This style of base is known as Super Jumbo. Valve is wrapped in Excelsior cloth in a cardboard box, which is not the original box for this valve.
