Group of 22 sailors taken on board a ship, probably H.M.A.S. Melbourne. One man (Sorell, W.M.) is not in uniform. He is probably a stoker. The other men are in uniforms. H.M.A.S. Melbourne is appears on their cap tally. Sitting in the front row is a man in a slightly different uniform, possibly of a higher rank than the other men. The photo has orderly rows and an official look.
