Portrait of Australian serviceman Major G. Nicholas, DSO, in uniform, mounted on card. George Matson Nicholas was a high school teacher before he served as an officer in the 24th Battalion during World War I. He was killed in action on 14 November 1916 (the photograph was previously dated 1917).
