Summary
Menu for Farewell Dinner for General Sir William Birdwood, G.C.M.G., K.C.B., K.C.S.I., C.I.E., D.S.O., A.D.C., London, July 1919. Includes toast list, dinner programme and signatures from attendees. Front bears illustration by Fred Leist depicting a soldier with rifle and bayonet dripping with blood, standing over a fallen German soldier and the words "And that's that". The dinner was held at the Connaught Rooms on 18 July 1919.
The menu bears numerous hand-written signatures including those of H.R.H. Edward The Prince of Wales, General Birdwood and Sir John Monash.
Physical Description
Two double sided cream card pages (formerly one card folded vertically at centre). Front cover bears text and illustration in brown, inside menu bears text printed in brown ink and various handwritten signatures in ink and pencil, back bears handwriting in black ink.
