Summary
Panoramic photograph, black and white, of marchers on Anzac Day, probably taken in the 1930s. The men depicted are probably World War I veterans. They are walking past the south side of the (now) Old Treasury building, Melbourne, alongside the Treasury Gardens. On Anzac Day in 1936 it was decided to assemble the march in Treasury Gardens, rather than just march past the Treasury building. It was also decided that year to march 20 abreast, rather than 12 as in previous years, to alleviate the wait for veterans.
Donated by the RSL in 1988, the photograph was one of several in turn donated to the RSL by Mrs Glad Shepperd. The group is described as 'Post W.W.I. marchers in Melbourne'.
