Summary

Percussion pepperbox revolver, cal. .32 in., six steel barrells, 85 mm long. Made in Birmingham, 1840s.

According to the donor, this item was obtained by a relation of the donor from a miner at Bendigo, circa1854.

Victoria Police assigned serial number: 40430VP.

Physical Description

Steel oval triggerguard, trigger and bar-hammer, chequered wooden grips secured by a single screw framed by a circular steel inlay on both sides of grips, flat butt with steel butt cap, steel frame and mounts, lightly engraved on both sides, down backstrap, on butt cap, triggerguard, and on bar-hammer with foliate scrolls, has a shield to protect the nipples. No maker's name appears on the frame.
