Summary
Vacuum cleaner with aluminium body containing the motor and forming suction piece. Tubular handle under which is suspended the dust bag. The vacuum cleaner was donated to Museum Victoria by Associated General Electric Supplies Co. in 1932.
The agent's plate has been removed but it could have been made by Keller Manufacturing Co., Philadelphia and the Australian General Electric Co. It is very similar to another vacuum cleaner (ST 017992) which was made by Keller and is a Santo model. In fact the bag clip on ST 018647 is marked 'Santo'; the switch on motor end of handle is marked 'Perkin'.
Physical Description
The suction piece is diamond- shaped and has suction openings parallel to edges and straight across.
