Summary
Scale model of a First World War Nieuport 16 biplane fighter aircraft. This model is painted to represent aircraft serial no. N1354.
The Nieuport 16 was a modified version of the Nieuport 11 and was fitted with a more powerful engine. This model is of an aircraft fitted with four Le Prieur rockets on each set of interplane struts. These rockets were used to attack observation balloons and airships.
NOTE: The undercarriage of this model is incorrectly positioned. It appears that the undercarriage has become detached at some stage and has been reattached much further aft than it should be. The front struts of the undercarriage should be attached to the fuselage just aft of the lower edge of the engine cowling.
