Summary
A Rodinga solid propellant jettisonable boost rocket motor of the type fitted to the Turana target missile. This was a single nozzle 6,000 lb thrust motor with a nominal burning time of two seconds developed specifically for the Turana target missile built by the Government Aircraft Factories (GAF) for the Royal Australian Navy. This unit is painted white overall with a narrow green band. Stencilling reads 'RKT. MTR. ASSY.No P1-60-001 S/N R.94MO2/74 ME 11/75 S/N 136. It was transferred to the Museum by the Maribyrnong Explosives Factory in 1994. This organisation carried out the development work on the Rodinga rocket for the Turana project.
