Three photographs of World War I formerly in a wooden frame, reproduced for an unknown exhibition. The images depict the aftermath of the battle of Menin Road. The Battle of Menin Road occured 20-25 September 1917. It was part of the so-called 'Third Battle of Ypres' on the Western Front.
Description of Content
Triptych of black and white photographs. The left photograpah depicts soldiers on stretchers, with truck partly on side and soldiers walking past in mid-frame. The centre photograph shows a water-filled crater with heavily damaged buildings behind; and the right photograph depicts more soldiers on stretchers, with soldiers walking past on a road, some carrying another person on a stretcher.
