Summary
Riding crop of the type used by the Australian Light Horse. It includes the badge of the 9th Australian Light Horse.
The further provenance of the riding crop is unknown, although the 9th Australian Light Horse was formed in 1915, during World War I. One quarter of its members were from Victorian; the rest were South Australian. The first contingent left Melbourne on 11 February 1915.
Physical Description
Leather covered handle with German silver mounts and badge of 9th Australian Light Horse. Black braided cord over wood and leather loop for switch.
