ORP10. Indium- Antimonide photoconductive cell. Made by Mullard in England, circa 1965. Sensitive to infra-red. Peak response at 6000 a.
A photocell converts light energy into electrical energy. Photocells have been used since the mid-1900s. Recent examples of their use can be seen in controlling automatic doors and indoor/outdoor lighting.
