Cuirass front or breastplate, joined to back by shoulder chains and waist belt. Manufactured in Klingenthal in June, 1833. This armour is of a type used by the European heavy cavalry regiment (cuirassiers).

Donated to Museums Victoria in 1945.

Physical Description

Moulded steel breastplate with brass (?) rivets. Inside there are hooks, some broken, for fastening to uniform/underclothing.
