Australian colour patch, 8th Battalion, AIF, 1914-1918.
Cut from a uniform coat believed to have been worn by Private Victor Leslie Harrison, 8th Battalion, AIF, service #2594. He enlisted on 14 June 1915, while a 25-year-old railway hand from Fitzroy, Melbourne. He sailed from Melbourne on 15 September 1915, and arrived in Gallipoli in December; leaving again in early January. In March 1916 he was sent to France, and after two periods of service on the Western Front left for Australia on a hopsital ship in March 1919.
Physical Description
Rectangular colour patch, white over red with brass 'A' in centre. Sewn on piece of khaki serge (part of sleeve).
