Summary
The Malabar was a 4,512 ton motor vessel owned and operated by Burns Philp & Co. Ltd. It was built by Barclay Curle & Co. Ltd at Glasgow in 1925. It was designed as a passenger-cargo vessel for the Australia-Java-Singapore route. On 2 April 1931, the Malabar was wrecked at Long Bay, south of Sydney when it ran onto rocks in foggy conditions.
