Pair of percussion pistols. Cal. 34 bore (.515 in.). Flintlock conversion. Made by W. Richards, Birmingham, circa 1783.
Physical Description
Cannon type screw off smooth bore barrel 3 in. (77 mm.) long, overall length 9 1/4 in. (235 mm.). Box lock with central hammer. Oval steel trigger guard, slides forward to act as safety catch. Rounded wooden stock ornamented with silver wire inlay, silver mask on butt, lock box engraved with flower & scroll.
