Summary
Sample of Vernonia Anthelmintica seeds from India contained in a glass jar with stopper. This was collected and prepared by T.N.Mukharji as part of his work for the Indian Botanical Gardens. It was donated to the Museum by the Indian Government, Calcutta in 1887.
Also known as Purple Fleebane or Iron Weed, the Hindi Name for this specimen is Somraj. Parbat-zerah. Vernonia Anthelmintica is an oil yielding plant. It is used as a condiment and also medicinally.
