John Barwise of St Martin's in the Field, London, commenced business about 1790 and operated into the 1850s. In collaboration with Alex Bain, he took out a patent for electric clocks in 1841. A firm trading with the name John Barwise continued into the 1930s.

Gold pair case. White enamel dial has roman numerals and gold hands. Key wound spring; duplex escapement. Fusee and chain.
