Longcase clock, made by Alex Mitchell, Glasgow, circa 1830.
Physical Description
Wooden case with flat top and break arch dial with geometrical frets in corners and twisted columns at sides. Has brass dial and chapter ring. Centre of dial inscribed with floral motifs. a seconds dial is below 12 and a calendar aperture above 6, surrounded by raised serpent ornaments. Spandrels have faces and shells in them. Anchor escapement.
