Gents pocket watch, silver plated hunter case, London Lever, circa 1880.
The watch belonged to James Devlin, Gippsland, Victoria, and was struck by lightning on 30 March 1887, near Forster, Gippsland, whilst lying on a fern stump.
Physical Description
Silver plated hunter case; silver mostly removed. Dial is badly discoloured. Works also badly corroded. Key wound spring; lever escapement.

Back plate is marked '53136'. Plate screwed onto watch plate marked 'The London Lever Registered'. Case has Birmingham hallmark for 1883, and is also marked with 'W.H.' and '53137'.
