Summary

IBM PC AT including box, monitor, keyboard and cables. This is a PC/AT made by the IBM factory in Wangaratta in the late 1980s.

An article in The Age of 23 May 2001 was headlined "A harder world hits Wangaratta". Text from the article: " Wangaratta's dream of becoming Victoria's Silicon Valley is dead almost 30 years after IBM introduced the computer industry to the town. Solectron, the US-based company that took over the former IBM plant less than a year ago is leaving, taking the jobs of 225 townspeople with it to Sydney."

Physical Description

The units are pretty much still in original condition except that the backup battery and a peripheral card (the card that drives the hard disk) inside the main unit were replaced few years back due to malfunction. The donor added a 3.5" floppy disk drive to the main unit few years back which can be removed with ease. He can supply the panel to cover the hole that would be left. List of Parts: A beige-coloured box with connecting lead (battery removed), A beige monitor with connecting lead. QWERTY keyboard, Light and dark beige coloured Floppy Disk & Hard Drive Controller Card (printed circuit board) Battery:Black rectangular box with two wires Beige and black plastic plate Beige craldle for vertical mounting of box Two mains leads (these may not be original)
