Summary
Brass miners circumferenter, also known as a surveyor's compass, used in surveying to measure horizontal angles.
Dial has scales for horizontal and vertical measurement as well as a thirteen inch telescope. Manufactured by W. Watkins in Bristol, England, circa 1860.
Physical Description
Brass circular base with glass face over dial divided by markings into 360 degrees. Circular cog-like attachment above dial has detachable telescope.
