Summary
Child's wooden rocking chair with cane seat. Initial information indicated it was made in England in 1840 and brought to Australia by Captain George Wadsworth for his daughter Elizabeth. However, according to a family member who visited Scienceworks in 1995, the chair was made by a convict in Longford, Tasmania. Elizabeth was born in Longford in 1868. (More detailed information about the chair and the family can be found in the supplementary file at Museum Victoria.)
