Summary

Punched card accounting system, probably assembled between 1959 and 1963. The 21 column punched card system was used for collating and retrieving information by automatic data processing. The system was donated by Punched Card Services, North Warrandyte, Victoria, Australia. The compnents of the accounting system are from various Power-Samas systems, notably Power One and Power Four.

The accounting system includes the following items:
* Elecromechanical sorter: containing two Connection Boxes individually adjusted for customer requirements. One of the two boxes, dated 1955, does not fit the Tabulator ST 040916.2. The other box, dated 1959, does, and its partner box is contained within ST 040916.2.
* Tabulator: containing indivdually customised Connection Box, which is partner to another Connection Box in ST 040916.1.
* Auto-Verifier: punched cards (and chads) can be found in the drawer of the auto-verifier. Each card is labelled: Kalamazoo (Aust) Ltd/ Nylex Products PO235. Nylex Products was a customer of Punched Card Services. The code, PO235 (on the punched cards) refers to the fact that the cards were specifically designed to fit in with the processing requirements of Nylex Products. Other jobs would each have a different design and code.
* Card Verify Unit: punched cards can be found in the hopper of the verify unit. Each card is labelled: I.C.T. Aust Pty Ltd. / Nylex Products PO246. Nylex Products was a customer of Punched Card Services. The code, PO246 (on the punched cards) refers to the fact that the cards were specifically designed to fit in with the processing requirements of Nylex Products. Other jobs would each have a different design and code.
* Two cardboard mailing boxes containing punched cards, unused and designed specifically for Nabisco Pty Ltd., a customer of Punched Card Services.
* Metal box containing maintenance items; one of which, a small hooked device, was used to clear card blockages.
* Wooden holder, containing punch cards, unused and designed specifically for Nylex Products, a customer of Punched Card Services.
* Hand Verifier, hand card punch and two card punch units.
