Half-plate 'Ruby' folding field camera manufactured by Thornton-Pickard Ruby, U.K., circa 1895.
Camera has double extension and includes a pair of Amber Rapid Rectilinear stereoscopic lenses f/8 with a roller blind shutter, Designed to sit on a tripod, the base has a turntable which allows the camera to rotate.
Includes a wide angle lens r. R. F/11, 1 r. R. Lens f/8, a separator for bellows when using stereo lenses, focussing device three d/d slides, and a carrying case.

Thornton-Pickard made this camera from about 1890 to1907.

Physical Description

Square wooden view camera with stereoscopic lenses and brass fittings. Black leather accordion-pleated bellows and a leather carry strap on top. It has roller blind shutters and a rack and pinion focus. The maker's round, ivory label with brown text is inlayed into the top of shutter box. Ground glass view panel in hinged wooden holder at rear of camera. Text around exterior of lenses.
