Summary
Water meter. Velocity of inferential class, reaction turbine type with three chambers or compartments. Sectioned. Made from brass by Davies, Shephard & Co. South Melbourne, circa 1880.
Physical Description
Body is roughly cylindrical in shape and is constructed from a variety of components and voids containing moving parts. At either side of the body there is a an inlet and outlet pipe (marked in white paint with the words 'IN' and 'OUT'). At the top of the meter is a hollow void with a glass cover. At the base of the void are two dials marked in black on a white enamel base. Parts of the meter are painted green but most components are uncoated brass.
