Metal grid iron, originally enamelled. Found in house in Prahran, occupied by donor's grandfather, aunts and uncles since the 1850s. No record of when grid-iron was made or used. Made by T. & C. Clark & Co., Wolverhampton, England.
T. & C. Clark & Company Limited was founded in 1795 by Thomas and Charles Clark. Based at Shakespeare Foundry, Wolverhampton, it became one of the largest foundries in the area.
Physical Description
Round revolving concave grid with trough bars delivering the liquid fat to a central depression from which it flows along channelled handle to small semi-spheroid saucer in the handle.
