Summary
Device used to transmit signals in an electric telegraph system. It converted a pattern of perforations on a continuous paper tape into pulses of electrical current representing letters and numbers according to a defined code. These pulses could then be transmitted over the telegraph line to the receiving station.

Brass frame with tape mechanism attached to one side. Attached cable and plug.
