Summary
Two basket coils, one in green wire and the other in brown. Used in radio receivers, basket coils were wound in such a way as to minimise the self-capacitance of the coil. This green wound coil was used in very long wave receivers; the brown was used in long wave. Basket coils were a popular form of inductor in the early 1920s.
Physical Description
Two different sized circular coils, each with a criss-cross winding, clamped by a circumferential strap, which is attached to a red fibre block with one pin and one socket connection. The smaller coil is wound with brown wire and the larger coil is wound with green wire
