Summary
Crystal detector, used in radio receivers. It can be adjusted to obtain maximum performance for particular frequencies and signal strengths through the selection of pairs of minerals.
The detector has two rotary turrets with four minerals in at the tip of each one. The turrets can be independently rotated to get any one of sixteen possible combinations of minerals. The turrets are rotated until the two desired minerals are facing each other, They can be moved away or towards each other using a screw mechanism, which also adjusts the pressure between the selected minerals when they are in contact.
Physical Description
