Battery call telephone box with Blake transmitter and pancake receiver.
Physical Description
Wall mounted phone with a rectangular varnished hardwood box fixed to a hardwood back panel. It has decorative mouldings on the edges and a metal domed bell is fixed to the back plate below the wooden box. A metal striker emerges from the bottom of the box to strike the bell. Handpiece is attached to box via a cable at the base of the box with a braided red and blue textile cover. An oval lacquered hardwood handle is rebated to fit a plastic ear piece and a metal hook extends from the top of the handle. Black painted metal speaker is mounted in the centre of the wooden box with a plastic copper alloy push button located below it to one side.
