Summary
Twin triode intended for use as a push-pull class AB2 power amplifier.
With a 300 volt supply this valve could produce an output of 10 watts. It was designed to be operated with zero bias which eliminated the need for a low impedance bias supply and the distortion caused by the commencement of grid current. 6.3 volt indirectly heated cathode.
Pin 1 is connected to the metal envelope via a strip of metal which carried the getter. The getter was 'fired' after the valve was evacuated and sealed by passing a current through this strip.
Physical Description
Internal parts of a valve made from metal and mica mounted on octal base (brown material) and plated shell mounted on display block with a complete example of a similar valve ST 022564.
