Summary
General purpose triode with a directly heated cathode designed to be operated from an AC supply. 1.5 volt directly heated cathode which drew a current of 1 amp.
Equivalent to the RCA UX226.
The combination of low voltage and high current in the filament was designed to minimise hum. It was used in the RF amplifier and audio stage in the earliest AC mains powered radios. Rendered obsolete by the development of economical indirectly heated valves.
Manufacturer: Philips, Holland.
