This valve is an example of metal-glass construction where a glass valve was fitted with a close fitting metal jacket. They were produced for a short time from 1936 to compete with the newly released metal valves by manufacturers who did not want to tool up for all-metal production.
Physical Description
Metal sheathed valve sectioned to show the conventional glass internal structure. It has a top cap and octal base with 7 pins present. Painted black. Mounted on display block.
